Serving as part of the test lab team, the Mechanical Engineer - Product Testing will test newly developed fluid and plastic connector products designed by our product design engineers and created by the prototyping team - putting the products to the test and ensuring that the end product meets the customer's specifications. You'll also test and evaluate new or alternate uses for existing Norma fluid and connectors (metal and polymer) product lines in order to meet various customer requirements.
Responsibilities:

- Plans and sets various Lab test activities according to requirement.
- Coordinates and sets up priorities within the test Lab team.
- Caries out functional tests acc. to customer and internal DVPs/specifications incl. analysis and documentation in reports and database.
- Cooperates with EMEA Engineering and Test Lab teams.
- Ensures operational safety, process excellence, calibration/maintenance of test equipment and certification audits.
- Monitors results, incl. continuous improvement of test equipment, defines procedures and work flow.
- Plans and monitors test budget and costs.

- Creates user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designs based on e.g., PowerBI & PowerApps.
- Parameterization and testing of sensors for data acquisition and analyzing purposes.
- Support development of test software and hardware applications to achieve product and company goals.
- Ensure that all data and technologies are cloud compatible.
Profile and skills
Required:
- University degree in technical science (e.g. mechatronics or mechanical engineering) with other additional training being an advantage
- At least two years of detailed knowledge in automotive testing methods and testing techniques, including the evaluation of test results.
- Base Knowledge of Industry 4.0 protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, EtherCat, Profinet, IO-Link).
- In-depth understanding of how different sensors work and transmit data.
- Fluent German & English skills (at least C1, written and verbal) in order to function well in a German-language working environment
- Good MS Office experience.
- Ability to find your way in a fast-moving and technical environment.
Preferred:
- Test specific software experience is beneficial.
- Experience to create user dashboards with e.g., PowerBI & PowerApps.
