Position Summary:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day activies related to quality assurance processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of AS9100 and IATF certifications, along with proven experience in managing teams of quality engineers and lab technicians. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

 

Responsibility / Duties:

  • Quality Assurance Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in accordance with AS9100 and IATF standards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
    • Establish and monitor key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers and lab technicians.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team meets their objectives and deadlines.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skills development and training.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the quality assurance department.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and non-conformities.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and excellence throughout the organization.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure supplier quality standards are met.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate performance and capability.
    • Establish and maintain effective supplier quality management processes.
  • Testing and Inspection:
    • Oversee testing and inspection activities using tools such as coordinate measuring machines and tensile testers.
    • Ensure testing procedures are conducted accurately and efficiently, and results are documented appropriately.
    • Review and analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality management systems, processes, and procedures.
    • Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive resolution.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is highly desirable.

 

Qualification/Other Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with AS9100 and IATF quality management systems.
  • Proven experience in managing teams of quality engineers and lab technicians.
  • Proficiency in using quality assurance tools and equipment, such as coordinate measuring machines and tensile testers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience with layered process audits is a significant advantage.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in office and factory settings.
  • Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
