Job Overview:

The Planning Supervisor will evaluate historical plant/department performance, sales forecasts, service levels, current backlog to develop, recommend and implement production plans and KPI's, and make recommendations to plant management regarding improvements in the planning processes to be efficient, optimize utilization, reduce costs and improve delivery performance to customers.

Responsibilities:

Develop/maintain Master Production Schedule/perform capacity planning in the plant as needed.

  • Compile Rough Cut Capacity Plan and maintain production capacity parameters.
  • Manage material and production exceptions to consistently meet customer requirements on time
  • Manage all Planner/Scheduling activities, corporate-wide assuring coverage and labor utilization is consistent with corporate goals.
  • Coordinate scheduling activities with other water plants when constrained resources will affect our customer service levels.

Train planning staff at the facility in production planning systems, cross train production personnel where needed.

  • Reroute jobs to keep corporate utilization optimal, OT low, and shipments balanced across multiple facilities. 
  • Review product mix requirements and plant capabilities and advise when additions for product mix may be necessary to maximize utilization.
  • Review/report on lead times for product classes with plant management as well as the sales and marketing team.

Assist in the development of production sales goals in cooperation with the Sales Operations         

  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data in order to perform rough-cut capacity planning.
  • Additional assigned duties/reports as needed by the plant.
  • Provide guidance and expertise relating to all levels of planning within Zeus.

 Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Four-year degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  1. Experience:  5 years of experience required
  2. Licenses/ Certifications: APICS-CPIM certification preferred.
  3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills, with emphasis on using MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel, and experience with an enterprise-wide information system such as SAP.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (P/D/C/A).
