Summary

Reporting to the Production, the Senior Machine Operator plays a pivotal role in leading and guiding the warehouse associates in executing the day-to-day operations efficiently. This role involves overseeing the safe and accurate operation of machinery within the manufacturing warehouse, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure strict adherence to NDS Safety policies and procedures among all warehouse associates.
  • Provide comprehensive training and coaching to warehouse associates to enhance productivity and accuracy in fulfilling customer orders according to Warehouse SOP.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of warehouse procedures.
  • Offer immediate feedback to the Warehouse Supervisor on all warehouse activities.
  • Lead by example, executing all processes with speed and a team-oriented approach.
  • Coordinate with customer service to fulfill extraordinary customer requests promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor to plan daily warehouse activities effectively.

 

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in warehouse operations with a track record of increasing responsibilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment, and shipping practices.
  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and teach procedures and instructions effectively.
  • Proficiency in order fulfillment using wireless devices and printers.
  • Strong communication skills to convey daily activities and goals to warehouse associates.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. and operating a forklift during day or night shifts.

 

Work Conditions

  • Warehouse environment to include inside and outside storage space which may be noisy and dirty
  • Personal Protective equipment required – Safety Glasses, closed toe footwear and ear plugs

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators as needed.
  • Place products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspection, or wrapping.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Start machines or equipment to initiate production processes.
  • Remove products or workpieces from production equipment.
  • Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment.
  • Record operational or production data accurately.
  • Monitor operating equipment to detect malfunctions promptly.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (hearing, eye, and hand protection) at all times.
  • Perform physical activities such as bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping, often requiring considerable use of the arms and legs.
