Job Overview:

 

Senior operator has the overview of a machine operator plus giving breaks and lunches as assigned by Sr. Lead and/or Supervisor, also ensuring that the workstations are filled with components, as needed, and pulling out finished pallets as required plus wrapping them and staging them for warehousing. Building boxes, scanning, labeling and printing labels as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Follow company’s safety policies and requirements

 

  • Wear PPE as required
  • Follow proper ergonomics (lifting, bending, twisting…)
  • Report any incidents on time
  • Report any potential safety risks (VBS)
  • Maintain 5S in plant and fill up 5S checklist (clean areas and ensure shadow boards are filled)

 

Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.

 

  • Assist machine operators.
  • Remove products or work pieces from production equipment.
  • Load and unload inserts into molds (if required)
  • Process products (assemble, inspect and wrap …)
  • Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions.
  • Use pallet jacks (electric and manual)
  • Use wrapping machines as required

 

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards

 

Scan production parts produced via handheld scanners

 

Support Machine Operators

 

  • Give breaks and lunches as required plus fill out hourly boards when substituting machine operators
  • Take produced pallets from machines
  • Wrap produced pallets via hand wrap and automatic wrapping machine
  • Backup operators when needed
  • Provide WIP components when needed
  • Retrieve, build and deliver boxes to machines
  • Print and deliver labels

 

Record operational or production data.

 

  • Read, understand, and fill up travelers
  • Record production scrap data on production scrap report
  • Fill hourly boards as required
  • Understand and sign break and lunches form; and confirm that operators are in compliance of policies for breaks and lunches

 

 

Perform any other jobs as directed from time to time

 

 

Position Requirements: 

 

  1. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

 

  1. Experience: three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

  1. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Coordinated movements of one’s hand, or using both hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs
  • The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists

 

 

Work Conditions:

 

  • Occasionally cold, hot, wet and humid (weather condition) moving mechanical parts, condense work areas and high noise level (hearing protection will be provided).
  • Perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body
    1. Climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, etc. …
    2. Activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials.
