Production Planner

The Production Scheduler will create & release achievable production schedules based on demand, capacity & material availability and monitor performance against plan and support & lead improvement initiatives. Anticipates potential issues and conflicts and presents options in a clear concise manner. Maintains and continually improves systems to enhance schedule management, communication and adherence.

 

Responsibilities
•    Manages MRP process to convert demand into supply orders
•    Prepare Daily and weekly production schedule for assigned areas by machine.
•    Sequences work orders by the key capacity constraint in each work center. 
•    Manages the work orders within the firm and released time fence.
•    Ensures timely releases of work orders to the shop floor to allow on time build and delivery of assigned products
•    Reschedules uncompleted work orders on a daily basis. 
•    Generate work orders for assigned products.
•    Prepare weekly and monthly capacity plans by work center.
•    Create weekly metric charts and focus on metrics in order to meet delivery performance targets 
•    Review Syspro reports and coordinate with customer service to ensure customers' expectations are met. Communicate to customer service any potential supply issues that will affect customers’ commit dates.  
•    Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned

 

Position Requirements•    Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Consideration will be given for relevant experience. 
•    APICS certification and/or affiliation a plus.     

•    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supply planning / scheduling / fulfillment role (preferably for a manufacturer of consumer products) 
•    Knowledge of MS Office required and SYSPRO experience preferred.
•    Ability to analyze increasingly complex datasets in Access/Excel at an intermediary level is required.
•    Solid analytical and problem solving skills.  
•    Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
•    Ability to communicate proactively with internal and external partners.
•    Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.  
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.  
•    Ability to uphold safety standards, participates in continuous process improvement on the job, and follows our business best practices.
•    Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment, be punctual, and follow instructions.

 

Additional Requirements:

 

  • Reporting on production status and any issues to upper management.
  • Planning Scheduling and Coordinating Production Activities to ensure schedule attainment is met
