Summary

 

Responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing and maintenance/Tooling processes for the manufacturing plants. Ensured that facilities, layout, and machinery used to produce goods run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes process engineering, management of capital assets, and maintenance of equipment/Tools and facilities. Includes managing of people, budgets, vendors, and cost.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Define the requirements of new and existing equipment and Tooling to secure the growth of the company supporting current and future demand.
  • Identify the right organization to optimize the uptime of the Capital assets of the company
  • Establish the automation processes in a high mix and volume environmental.
  • Develop new third-party manufacturing providers in North America and offshore to have quick response processes.
  • Planning and implementing of new projects to ensure that deliverables are issued on schedule, project milestone dates met, and given tasks are completed within the allowed budget.
  • Implementation of best practice for process engineering and maintenance/tooling to improve operational performance.
  • Lead problem solving activities related to processes, identifying the root cause and follow up actions to mitigate reoccurrence.
  • Assists in preparing the yearly operating and capital budgets.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and oversee the impact on maintenance activities. Manage the process of acquiring new equipment and the disposal of obsolete machinery.
  • Provides employee guidance as to company rules and regulations.
  • Following all OSHA regulations
  • Compliance officer for EHS

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanic Engineering or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials, and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomes.
  • Complete understanding of principles and practices of Lean Manufacturing
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Word, Power point, Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong collaborator
  • Initiative-taking person that works well independently to meet goals
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

 

Other Skills and Requirements

  • Strong computer skills, with emphasis on using MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel, and experience with an enterprise-wide information system such as SAP.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (P/D/C/A).
  • Able to travel with little notice
