Purpose:
The Plant Finance Head will be responsible for managing and directing all financial operations for a manufacturing plant, ensuring financial stability, cost efficiency, and alignment with overall company goals. This role will oversee budgeting, financial planning, reporting, analysis, and internal controls to optimize financial performance while supporting operational teams in meeting production targets and maximizing profitability.
Primary Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant.
- Oversee cost accounting, including direct and indirect cost analysis, material and labor costs, and overhead allocations.
- Manage and improve the plant’s financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Work closely with plant operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Manage fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and capital expenditure budgets.
- Lead and develop the plant finance team.
- Work with operations, procurement, and HR teams to align financial goals with operational objectives.
- Strong focus on expense management and control
- Ability to work on requirements for Transfer Pricing documentation
- Constant focus on cash management and overdue control
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax, corporate governance, and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee audits (internal and external) and ensure that corrective actions are taken based on audit findings.
- Interfacing with banks & NBFC’s on various matters such as short term borrowings, Letter of Credits, Bank Guarantees, and Bills Discounting etc and on various routine issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibility of managing the entire plant finance team.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Professional certification such as CA ( Chartered Accountant) or CMA ( Cost & Management Accountant ) or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5-6 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in cost accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and financial reporting within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive financial performance improvements in a plant setting.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced financial modeling, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, manufacturing cost structures, and budgeting.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to Merger & Acquisitions ( M & A ) will be an added advantage
