As an Application Engineer at Norma Group, you support the sales process by owning the technical interaction with the customer, representing Norma solutions and innovations and bringing the voice of the customer to the company. You will be part of the Application Engineering ool team serving various customers in the EMEA region, also implementing our solutions into thermal management for vehicles and to uild technical expert knowledge in the thermal management area, which will be the focus of this role. 
 

The role: 
•    As the main technical contact person for your client base, you will be the technical evangelist for thermal management applications in the EMEA region with a heavy focus on the German, Austrian, and Swiss market. 
•    Actively develop (map out) and maintain great customer relationships through technical contact and identify opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and create business growth, actively promoting Norma Group products to customers (technical presentations etc.) in both Fluid and Fasten portfolios
•    Become expert in Norma Group product portfolio to be able to independently advise customers.
•    Analyse technical content (2D/3D/Specifications) in an initial RFQ phase to identify opportunities/risks for Norma, including negotiation of the technical content to align requirements to workable solutions
•    Create the first basic design definition and technical scope as input to the RFQ process (technically, what to quote to the customer). 
•    Define customer strategy together with Account Managers and Customer Coordinators
•    Present technical solutions to customer (preferably face to face at customer) and clarify timelines/milestones with customer and Norma Group teams as RFQ input. 
•    Be the voice of the customer in technical internal forums and understand the customer needs and provide solutions.
•    Take part in global RFQ's / Projects to grow business.
•    Participate/collaborate in internal cross-functional teams & projects.
•    Take active part in tech days at the customer.

 

 

Required background: 
•    Engineering degree with 5+ years work experience in the automotive industry.
•    Understanding and being able to interpret drawings, 3D models (CAD) and technical specifications.
•    Understanding of the product development process in an OEM environment.
•    Communication skills and ability to bring clarity to complex technical discussions.
•    Ability to find, negotiate and drive solutions that work for involved stakeholders.
•    Location is close to key customer/s. 
•    Positive attitude to a dynamic, independent and interdisciplinary way of working in a self-driven team.
•    Enjoy respectful collaboration in a multicultural and international environment.
•    Language requirements: Fluent German and English verbal and written, third language is an advantage. 
•    Flexible to travel to support customer visits and internal activities.
