In your new challenge as Project Manager and VA-/VE-Specialist you are driving cost reductions by working with strategic purchasing and lead buyers through supplier assessment and benchmarking. You support with Value Analysis and Value Engineering during product development and you integrate (technical) product quality and customer perspective in procurement decisions. The position is reporting to the Group Commodity Director Fasten


The tasks in detail:


  • Contributes in delivering bottom line / top line results, managing the commodity spend / projects according to long term planning
  • Step-by-step value analyses of existing products in a range of areas, e.g. costs, function, alternative components and design aspects
  • Supporting product development on reducing costs and improving function before capital is invested in tooling, plant or equipment
  • Supplier assessment focusing on should costs, purchasing/cost management, manufacturing and SCM
  • Drives cross-functional initiatives to optimize spend for the fasten division
  • Contributes to optimization and standardization of existing production methods with existing parts, while keeping same quality
  • Effective project management
  • VA/ VE to drive specification harmonization and support product consolidation


Your profile:


  • Completed university studies and 5+ years professional experience in Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE)
  • Experience to work in in matrix organizations
  • Execution focus
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills / stakeholder management
  • Sound understanding of business and supply chain TCO
  • Willingness to travel (25%)
  • Deep technical understanding of the fasten production process
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of fasten components and product development
  • Mandatory language skills (English)
  • Prior experience in cross-functional project management
