Quality Technician

 

Objective:

The Quality Technician provides support for all aspects of Quality Department throughout the product realization process at NORMA. The Quality Technician provides a key role to ensure products and processes meet defined quality standards and any regulatory requirements and that communication with all internal and external customers and vendors are maintained. The Quality Technician supports activities to meet key objectives that are set by senior management locally, regionally, and globally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively communicate via phone and email with Customers and Vendors regarding project status.
  • Communicate PPAP requirements with the manufacturing plants and coordinate to achieve customer requirements pertaining to PPAP.
  • Facilitate the Layered Process Audit (LPA) program set by the Quality Department.  Prepare results and present to the quality team. Provide support for corrective actions initiated through audit findings.
  • Assist with department reporting including weekly and monthly.
  • Support facility’s EH&S programs.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with all levels of the organization.
  • Adhere to NORMA’s Business System Policy and follow appropriate procedures as documented in the training agreement.
  • Follow all plant and office safety rules.  Keep your work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Associates or Degree in Engineering, Business or similar discipline is a plus but not required.
  • 2 years manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • 2 years quality related experience is a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc…)
  • Basic understanding of quality tools such as PPAP, 8D, and PFMEA.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrate leadership characteristics that align to NORMA projected expectations.
