Objective:

The supply chain organization of NORMA Group is responsible for scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business ensuring an uninterrupted supply of raw materials, parts, and assembly items, while also managing inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers and other departments. Their primary role is to manage material releases to vendors and inventory levels of raw materials and components to enable production execution while maintaining optimal productivity. This position is a key driver on how material releases are developed and maintained to meet both customer demand and organizational goals and support the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process.

 

The role is entrusted to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external supply chain planning partners. This position is charged with making decisions that impact the production plan and communicating those decisions to stakeholders. The role expands to include contributing to special projects and other supply chain and business strategy initiatives. This person is a well-rounded individual who encompasses analytical, communication and leadership skills. They can quickly identify deviations from expected results and other disruptions and are able to promptly resolve any issues.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Material Planning and Forecasting

The role will be responsible for creating Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business.

 

The role will:

  • Lead continuous improvement of process and inventory levels, track, update, and maintain MRP setup (qty, planned delivery/collection time and date) and update release matrix at the plant.
  • Schedule & oversee the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
  • Support day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
        • Implement, track, and update planning parameters in the ERP system (LT, Coverage, ABC, XYZ, MOQ, Calendars, Safety stock, etc.)
        • Track supplier’s performance (OTIF, response, communication and flexibility, supplier score card) with regular feedback and escalation towards supplier and purchasing organization
        • Periodic analysis of inventory strategies and update of ABC-XYZ analysis with a proposal for inventory optimization and alignment with defined targets for the period.
        • Support logistic projects related to the optimization of warehouse space, material flow, and transportation
        • Support suppliers in implementation and understanding the Logistic requirements of Norma Group
        • Take part in the production schedule meeting and support the process by providing supply constraint data and risk in the planned production plan and provide actions to close GAP
        • Provide suppliers with forecast, material release, and production release data according to Norma Logistic requirements
        • Tracks and updates delivery dates to ensure materials arrive when needed, with no excess or shortage of inventory
        • Creates procurement requests from the MRP system to deliver components on time in alignment with production planning requirements
        • Accelerates and redeploys open procurement requests to meet production planning requirements and track and update suppliers’ confirmations of deliveries
        • Report significant deviations and define action plans with logistics and purchasing teams
        • Monitors and analyzes forecasts and puts special focus on long lead time materials and suppliers
        • Ensure that significant changes in production planning for short and midterm are communicated to critical suppliers
        • Supports Project Managers when launching new projects/products (SOP) and follow up and set supply strategies for materials set for end of production (EOP) and engineering change
        • Manages inventory and requirement levels with appropriate feedback to logistics and planning on risks related to availability and stock coverage
        • Regularly reports to the immediate superior and is responsible for the reliability of the data
        • Adheres to the ethical principles of the profession and acts in accordance with the company's policy and procedures
        • Performs other tasks within the framework of his professional qualification at the request of his immediate superior
        • He is obliged and responsible, within the scope of his work, for the implementation of measures for safe and healthy work in accordance with the Law on Safety and Health at Work, other regulations in the field, and the Collective Agreement for Safety and Health at Work,              
        • Respects environmental and fire protection measures within the scope of his work,
        • Participates in ensuring the functioning of the quality system in accordance with quality standards

 

  1. Work Arrangements

 

Under normal operating conditions, this role will follow the regional supply chain organization's usual policies and practices. However, if the individual is notified outside of normal working hours to conduct a task that has a critical business impact, the person will be expected to perform the role outside of hours to the extent required to protect the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, mathematics or a related field or equivalent qualifications and work experience.
  • Seven (5) plus years’ experience in supply chain or related field.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  None required. 

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Majority of time in office environment indoors.  In plant, occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, machine lubricants, airborne particles, vibration and risk of electrical shock.  Plant noise level is typically loud. Personal protective wear is required.
  • Ability to maintain considerable levels of concentration while working under frequent time pressures and interruptions.
  • Ability to frequently sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and bend for employee records.  Ability to carry a box of paper (approximately 20 lbs.) or equivalent infrequently to replenish office, or equivalent for training needs (i.e., projector, student handouts, etc.).
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
