  • Under the direct supervision of the Commodity(Purchasing) Manager, develop and implement supply processes for commodities packaging and logistics by leveraging volume across Americas region locations.
  • Prepare bid packages, analyze bids and create sourcing summary.
  • Analyze forwarding and logistics spend and services to conduct freight tender(sea,air and land) for all locations across the region and in support of Global Forwarding Manager.
  • Analyze and propose working process through NAFTA regulations in order to obtain cost improvement.
  • Assist Manager with negotiating brokerage services rates for the Americas region in alignment with US and Mexican customs.
  • Analyze procurement strategies for packaging for compliance with the applicable NAFTA regulations.
  • Support the Manager's budgeting plan for packaging and logistics for the Americas region by analyzing prices trends.
  • Update standard and budget prices in the ERP system, based on yearly vendor negotiations.
  • Evaluate services for freight forwarding and brokerage providers to ensure they meet with all regulations in accordance with NAFTA.
  • Monitor and claim for refund of duties (drawback) for imported goods in the US per NAFTA regulations.
  • Create Certificates of Origin based on NAFTA rules of origin and Harmonized Tariff Schedule.

  • Education: Bachelor- International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree
  • Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as an Import-Export Traffic Coordinator/Analyst, or in a related global commodity purchasing role;
  • Experience must include, at least:
  1. Five (5) years working with NAFTA regulations and requirements for the automotive industry, including import - export processes and Certificate of Origin rules.
  2. Five (5) years of working with pricing analysis, structure, incoterms, and cost break down for sub-commodities, including packaging, logistics, and capital expenditure.
  3. Three (3) years working with purchasing modules of ERP systems.
  4. Three (3) years working with drawback requirements and regulations.
  5. Three (3) years working with cost reduction tools, including global sourcing and negotiating based on market trends.
